Tucker grew up in northeast Georgia, in a home bursting with love for our pets, which included dogs, cats, and for a time, a goat named Emily. He graduated from West Point in 2012 and served five years on active duty as an Army Engineer Officer. While serving at Fort Hood, Texas, Tucker adopted the lights of his life, an Australian Cattle Dog/Red Heeler/Shepherd mix named BearBear, and a ginger cat named Whitty Whitakers. After leaving active duty, Tucker moved to Washington, DC to work in the LGBT movement at a national nonprofit, and he's very excited to be pursuing an MBA this fall at the University of Georgia to further advance his career. In the meantime, he is delighted to spend his time caring for the pets that make our lives so warm and rich.

Houston the cat was promoted to Spa and Zen Manager in late 2014 when DC Dog Sitter began to come into existance. Originally found living on the lamb with a large dog, he was adopted by our Founder in February 2012 - the same weekend that Whitney Houston passed away. Houston holds many talents including but not limited to being trained to use a toilet, however, he most prefers to scratch to his hearts content in his stylish ModKat litter box, remind many a visiting dog that he is the true King of the house, and hold out his foodie poker face until he wins the battle for tuna - preferably the canned Whole Foods 365 Albacore tuna (unsalted please). In his spare time when he is not contemplating his next nap or game of tag, he is most often found on one of the many faux fur blankets or his favorite cat tower by Contempo Cat. Houston's favorite theme song is "I'll Always Love You" as sung by Whitney Houston.
